Pay television provider DirecTV and A+E Networks have expanded their distribution agreement to include around a dozen free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels.
The channels — 10 in total — will be available to customers who use DirecTV via Internet and DirecTV Stream, the company said in a release. Customers with DirecTV’s satellite-based service will also have access to the channels through the companion DirecTV app.
The channels being added to DirecTV’s Internet-based platforms are:
- Ax Men (marathon stream)
- Cold Case Files (marathon stream)
- Crime 360
- Deal Zone
- Duck Dynasty (marathon stream)
- Ice Road Truckers (marathon stream)
- Modern Marvels (marathon stream)
- Movie Favorites by Lifetime
- Tiny House Nation (marathon stream)
- UnXplained Zone
“Consumers today want more choice and customization in their video offerings, and we are working across all of our top programming suppliers to ensure they get it,” Linda Burakoff, the Senior Vice President of Content and Programming at DirecTV, said in a statement. “A+E Networks has a proven track record and strong portfolio, and we are pleased to enable our customers a wider array of choices among A+E’s most popular franchises and the ability to explore their most avid interests in greater depth.”

DirecTV already carries traditional cable networks from A+E Networks, including the flagship A&E channel, History Channel, Lifetime, FYI and Vice TV, among others. A+E Networks is a joint venture between the Walt Disney Company and Hearst Television.
