WBD’s streamer Max lands on VIDAA smart TVs

Streaming television platform VIDAA and Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) have inked a distribution deal that allows users of VIDAA-powered smart TV sets to access Max in more than 60 countries.

The partnership allows VIDAA TV users to subscribe to Max and have instant access to hit shows and films from Warner Bros Pictures, D.C. Comics, HBO, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, CNN and more.

Additionally, the partnership allows VIDAA TV users in Belgium and the Netherlands to access HBO Max, as the Max streaming service has yet to launch in those regions.

“We are excited to welcome Max to the VIDAA family,” Guy Edri, the CEO of VIDAA, said in a statement. “Our mission is to provide our users with the best possible entertainment options, and adding Max too ur platform is a testament to this commitment. With its diverse and high-quality content offerings, Max is a perfect fit for VIDAA, and we are confident that our users will appreciate the expanded viewing possibilities that this partnership bring.”

Max debuted on some VIDAA-powered TV sets earlier this week, and is rolling out to all users in the coming days.

VIDAA is a household name throughout Europe, the Middle East and Latin America, where the company has spent several years partnering with TV manufacturers to build a consumer-first streaming experience. The company was spun out of Hisense in 2019, and has concentrated its efforts in countries where the streaming TV market is maturing or otherwise fractured.

VIDAA TVs are sold in more than 160 countries and run streaming apps from over 200 partners, including Netflix, Amazon’s Prime Video, YouTube, Rakuten TV and Disney Plus. VIDAA began shipping smart TVs in the United States last year, where a few Hisense models are sold at Best Buy.
