FIFA has named electronics maker Hisense as the first official partner of the FIFA Club World Cup soccer tournament, the companies announced this week.

The partnership was announced during an event at Shanghai Tower on Wednesday, which counted FIFA President Gianni Infantino, FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström, and Hisense Group Chairman Jia Shaoqian in attendance. Shanghai Tower is the tallest skyscraper in Chian; Hisense is headquartered in Qingdao.

“We are delighted to welcome Hisense, a global market-leading brand, as an Official Partner of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025,” Infantino said in a statement. “Hisense’s commitment to innovation and technology aligns with our vision for this tournament, which will bring together the 32 best teams from around the world for an unforgettable celebration of our game that will revolutionize club football. This partnership will offer fans unique ways to engage with the tournament, both on and off the pitch, while laying a technological and innovation-led foundation for the FIFA Club World Cup to flourish.”

The partnership builds on an existing agreement that dates back to 2017, when Hisense became the official partner of the FIFA World Cup tournament. FIFA World Cup is a competition that involves the senior men’s national team from 32 countries; the FIFA Club World Cup is a reboot of a tournament that started in the early 2000s, and will include a new format that involves 32 men’s soccer clubs from AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA. The inaugural FIFA Club World Cup under the new format is scheduled to take place in the United States between June and July of next year.

Hisense operates in more than 160 countries around the world, and is best known for its low-price, feature-filled line-up of Android TV-powered devices. The company also produces TVs that operate on the VIDAA platform in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the U.S., and on Roku in the U.S.; it manufactures non-TV consumer electronics and appliances as well, including phones, tablets, refrigerators, stoves, air conditioners and microwaves.
