Wallet-conscious television service Philo has grown its free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) offering to more than 100 linear content channels, the company announced on Tuesday.
The Philo FAST offering allows fans of entertainment, lifestyle and knowledge shows and movies unfettered access to over 100 content streams without a paid subscription. Unlike other FAST services, users can also record shows and movies to a cloud DVR for later playback, with episodes and titles available for a month after they initially stream on supported channels.

This week, Philo added seven new channels to its FAST service:
- Architectural Digest
- Bon Appétit
- Christmas Plus
- Electric Now
- At Home with Family Handyman
- Judge Nosey
- The Design Network
The channels join dozens of other FAST content streams, including AMC Thrillers, BBC News, Game Show Central, Ebony TV, Gusto TV, Get Comedy, Love Nature and MSG SportsZone — all of which are totally free to stream.
Philo also offers a “core” package of channels that are simulcasts of cable networks, including AMC, BBC America, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, Comedy Central, BET, We TV, Sundance, Paramount Network, MTV, VH1, A&E, History Channel and Lifetime, starting at $28 per month. Philo Core also includes access to the ad-supported tier of AMC Plus at no extra cost. Subscriptions to Starz and MGM Plus are also available for separate fees.
