Move over, Rockefeller Center — there’s a new Christmas tree taking over the town.
This week, Fox News Media will host its own Christmas tree lightning ceremony for the fifth straight year, one that includes prominent Fox News personalities and a performance from singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw.
The Christmas tree at Fox Square includes 18,000 ornaments and 340,000 true white, warm white and red lights. The “All-American Christmas Tree” stands 50 feet tall and includes a six-foot topper with 4,800 embedded lights. The tree was produced by lightning and display company American Christmas, based in Mout Vernon, New York.
During the special, co-hosts from the hit Fox News show “The Five” will discuss their favorite holiday memories and traditions in front of a live audience. Later in the program, chief religion correspondent Lauren Green will introduce Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Reverend Jacques DeGraff, who will discuss the importance of the holiday season. Rabbi Steven Burg and Franklin Graham will each share a message of hope for the season.
The tree lightning event includes a charity tie-in with First Responders Children’s Foundation, which provides financial support to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty, along with families who endure significant financial hardship due to tragedy. Earlier this month, Fox News Media employees contributed to a company-established toy drive to benefit the charity; during the special, Fox senior meteorologist Janice Dean — whose husband is a first responder — will converse with The Five co-hosts and executives from the First Responders Children’s Foundation.
The special will also include a performance from High Point University’s (HPU) Chapel Choir in North Carolina; the university has raised over $30,000 and donated water and other supplies to residents afflicted by Hurricane Helene.
The program airs on the Fox News Channel on Friday, November 22 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
Fox News Media is part of Fox Corporation.
