Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) is building on its telecast agreements with Fox Sports and Paramount’s CBS Sports by inking a distribution deal that will see nearly two dozen matches streamed via Roku.
On Wednesday, PVF and Roku announced the deal that will bring 20 live volleyball matches to the free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service The Roku Channel this year. The service is built into all modern Roku streaming devices and smart TVs, and is also available as a download on Amazon Fire TV and Android TV (Google TV) devices.
“This partnership with Roku continues a transformative period in PVF’s growth, delivering on our promise to provide national visibility for our athletes and sport,” Jen Spicher, the CEO of PVF, said in a statement. “In just 90 days, we’ve built the most extensive broadcast footprint in professional volleyball, creating a strong foundation for our league as it enters its second season.”
“Women’s volleyball has a passionate and expansive fanbase, and PVF’s position as the premier professional league makes them the ideal partner for Roku,” said Joe Franzetta, the Head of Sports at Roku Media. “As we continue to expand our sports offering, adding PVF as our first women’s professional league partnership underscores our commitment to delivering premium live sports to a wider fan base.”
PVF’s three telecast deals increases its broadcast distribution by 350 percent compared to its first season, the organization said. A total of 45 matches will stream or broadcast live across CBS, Fox and The Roku Channel this year.
The first match of the 2025 season will take place on Thursday, January 9. That match will broadcast live on Fox Sports 2 (FS2) at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
