The E. W. Scripps Company has promoted Ahmad Jackson to serve as its permanent Vice President of Political Sales and Pay-for-Performance, the company announced on Monday.

In the role, Jackson will oversee all aspects of Scripps political advertising and pay-for-performance sales teams in Washington, D.C., which is responsible for that segment of the business across all Scripps-owned platforms. He has served in an interim leadership capacity for political and pay-for-performance sales since February, the company affirmed.

“Ahmad has a deep understanding of Scripps’ sales operations and all aspects of our business and has delivered results across the various functions in our D.C. office, including political, pay for performance, political CTV and sales operations,” said Scripps Chief Revenue Officer Brian Norris. “Ahmad is a strategic thinker who is also able to execute against the strategy, and he is well-respected both within Scripps and throughout D.C.”

Jackson has worked for Scripps in various roles over the past six years, joining the company from SiriusXM Radio, where he worked as a senior finance analyst. He also previously worked as a sales associate for WUSA (Channel 9), the Gannett-owned CBS affiliate serving the Washington, D.C. area.

He began his broadcasting career in 2007 as a sales associate at Scripps-owned ABC affiliate WMAR (Channel 2) in Baltimore.
