ABC News is parting ways with its correspondent Terry Moran, several days after the reporter published a social media post that was critical of White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.
The post, which characterized Miller as a “world-class hater,” was a “clear violation of ABC News policies,” a spokesperson said in a statement on Tuesday.
Moran was nearing the end of his contract with ABC News when the social media post was made, the network said on Tuesday.
“We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and, based on his recent post, which was a clear violation of ABC News policies, we have made the decision to not renew,” the spokesperson confirmed.
Miller is believed to be the architect of ongoing immigration raids throughout the U.S., including those in Los Angeles, which sparked protests and riots over the weekend. Moran did not reference the immigration sweeps in his post, but said one could see that Miller is “richly endowed with the capacity for hatred,” which could be seen “just by looking at him, because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment.”

The post, published to X (formerly Twitter), drew immediate criticism from Trump allies, including Vice President J.D. Vance, who said people should “remember that every time you watch ABC’s coverage of the Trump administration.”
Moran joined ABC News in 1997. He interviewed Trump in the Oval Office two months ago.
ABC News is owned by the Walt Disney Company.
