LG Electronics has rolled out a new version of its WebOS Hub, the connected TV operating system that LG licenses to third party device manufacturers.

The new version, called WebOS Hub 3.0 (stylized as webOS Hub 3.0), includes artificial intelligence features that allow users to search for content using their voice, improves dialogue with enhanced audio and automatically adjusts picture settings depending on the device or content playing on a screen at any given time.

Additionally, the new version of WebOS Hub includes support for always-on displays, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and Auracast Bluetooth audio.

As with prior version of WebOS Hub, the new iteration of the operating system also includes support for hundreds of third-party streaming apps, including popular services like Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon’s Prime Video and YouTube, among others. It also allows third-party device manufacturers to offer free content streams from LG Channels.

“The launch of WebOS Hub 3.0 marks a significant milestone in four key areas: market expansion, technological advancement, enhanced B2B partnerships and future growth,” said Chris Jo, the head of WebOS Platform Business Center at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “By providing differentiated value, LG is positioning WebOS as the platform of choice for global B2B partners.”
