LG Electronics maintained its global dominance as the largest seller of OLED television sets for the 12th year in a row, the South Korean company announced this week, citing data from Omdia.

According to market research from Circana, one out of two OLED TVs sold in North America is made by LG, despite the OLED TV marketplace seeing more competitors over the past few years.

LG shipped its first OLED TV in 2013, and quickly became the worldwide shipper and seller of the TVs, which are known for their rich color and contrast relative to conventional LED TVs.

While other companies like Vizio, Samsung and Sony sell OLED TVs today, LG has managed to maintain its dominance in North America and around the world by offering a range of OLED TVs that cater to all budgets and tastes — from low-cost Evo OLED sets that cost under $1,000 to ultra-premium LG Signature sets that can cost more than $10,000. LG’s OLED TVs range in size from 42 inches to 97 inches.

At CES 2025 earlier this year, LG’s OLED Evo G5 was awarded the coveted Best in Show Award by CNET Group. The set is the first to offer “true wireless “TV when it comes to audio and video transmissions, LG says.

Most LG TVs run Web OS (stylized as webOS), which offers access to popular streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon’s Prime Video and Disney Plus, along with hundreds of free, ad-supported content streams through the LG Channels app.
