The E. W. Scripps Company this week promoted Stephanie Rey to oversee the broadcaster’s content licensing and co-production agreements.
In her new role as Senior Director of Content Licensing and Co-Productions, Rey will be in charge of developing and executing strategies involving the licensing of content for all Scripps brands, including Ion, Scripps Sports, and multicast networks Laff, Bounce TV and Court TV, among others.
Rey will report to Adam Harman, the Senior Vice President of Content and Programming at Scripps, and will work closely with marketing, legal and production teams to effectuate the company’s content licensing strategies.
“Stephanie has been an integral part of our live sports programming and specials such as the Scripps National Spelling Bee, as well our brands’ scripted dramas, sitcoms, clip shows, theatrical and original films,” said Harman. “She has a deep understanding of our brands and the media landscape, has built an extensive network of industry contacts and relationships, and has proven herself as a skilled negotiator with a demonstrated track record in licensing agreements.”
Rey has worked as a director of programming at Ion Network since it was acquired by Scripps four years ago. She has overseen content strategies and scheduling for Ion and Laff across broadcast TV and free streaming platforms.
Before joining Scripps, Rey worked for NBC Universal, where she worked in programming for the company’s international channels, including SyFy Latin America.
