Key Points:

  • MotoGP and C15 Studio have launched a new 24-hour free streaming channel dedicated to the sport of motorcycle racing.
  • The channel will feature live coverage of MotoGP practice, qualifying, Moto2, Moto3, and MotoE races, plus classic races and documentaries.
  • The MotoGP Channel is available on free streaming platforms like Plex, LG Channels and Sling Freestream.

C15 Studio has launched a new free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel dedicated to Grand Prix motorcycle racing, better known as MotoGP.

The MotoGP Channel will offer live racing, original programming and year-round coverage of the motorcycle racing sport, the company announced in a statement.

Among other events, the MotoGP Channel will deliver practice and qualifying sessions from all 22 circuits during the season, including live Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE races.

In addition to live competition, the channel will feature classic races, documentaries, and special programming, showcasing historic moments, rider profiles, and team features, C15 Studio said.

“Our collaboration with C15 Studio on the MotoGP Channel opens an exciting new avenue for U.S. fans to engage with the sport,” Dan Rossomondo, the Chief commercial Officer of MotoGP, said in a statement. “Live coverage of MotoGP qualifying and practice, along with live Moto2 and Moto3 races, presents a fantastic opportunity for fans to tune into the action. Combined with a deep lineup of around-the-clock content, the channel offers direct access to the very best of MotoGP, every time they tune in.”

The channel launched on Monday, and is available on free streaming platforms like Plex, LG Channels and Sling Freestream. Amazon will also make the channel available through its Fire TV Channels menu and via the Prime Video app for subscribers and non-subscribers alike.

The first live broadcast will coincide with the Austrian Grand Prix weekend.

“We are thrilled to be part of MotoGP’s growth trajectory in the United States, especially as the sport is poised to accelerate its expansion at the start of an exciting new chapter,” said Joe Nilsson, the co-Founder and CEO of C15 Studio. “MotoGP possesses all the vital ingredients for a successful new channel: season-long, compelling live event coverage, a passionate fan base, top-tier sponsors and a rich legacy.”

The Desk was the first publication to report on C15 Studio’s streaming efforts when it emerged from stealth mode last summer. In addition to MotoGP, C15 Studio programs several other sports-focused streaming channels, including F1 TV (Formula 1), Triton Poker and Squash TV.

The London-based company has hired a number of producers, technical directors and administrative staff from the world of traditional sports broadcasting, including companies like Sky Group in the United Kingdom, Sky New Zealand and Viaplay, which executives said were key to the development, programming and marketing of its channels on behalf of Tier 1 and Tier 2 sports franchises.

“No one came to our business having made FAST channels before,” Nilsson said in an interview last year. “Everyone who came to our business has made sports TV channels before.”

One month after it formally launched, C15 Studio hired Chris Flatley away from Fubo to serve as the Vice President of Advertising Sales, with an office based in New York City. Fubo is one of C15 Studio’s channel distribution partners.
