DIRECTV is partnering with artificial intelligence company Glance to launch a new feature on certain set-top boxes that will deliver more-personalized advertisements and marketing experiences, the companies announced on Tuesday.

Through the partnership, Glance AI will be available to DIRECTV streaming customers using the company’s Gemini devices starting in early 2026. The integration introduces a new layer of on-screen engagement powered by interactive, AI-enhanced screensavers designed to display content, shopping and discovery tools directly on the television.

Glance AI, developed in collaboration with Google, uses on-device artificial intelligence to deliver interactive screens across categories including lifestyle, travel, health, automotive and local trends. It will also provide real-time updates such as weather conditions and sports scores tailored to each viewer’s interests.

The feature enables viewers to browse products and brand catalogs in a visually immersive shopping experience that feels native to television, with options to extend those commerce interactions to mobile devices.

“Glance AI unlocks a new two-way relationship between TV watchers and their idle screens,” said Naveen Tewari, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Glance. “Whether it’s sparking creativity in a family room using Glance’s AI looks on TV, or creating an AI feed of your favorite sports leagues, or helping your kids discover their next dream vacation, Glance AI makes it all come alive.”

DIRECTV executives said the technology builds on the company’s broader efforts to create a more personalized streaming experience.

“With Glance AI, TV screensavers become a smart content discovery, personalization, and AI-commerce experience,” said Vikash Sharma, the Senior Vice President of Product Marketing at DIRECTV. “DIRECTV audiences who stream TV through our Gemini devices will now get the opportunity to reimagine their interactions with their TV screen, with personalized content, entertainment, news, and shopping recommendations in real time.”

Through the partnership, users will be able to engage with content from hundreds of brands and millions of product catalogs directly from their television. Each experience will be dynamically tailored using AI, offering what the companies describe as a “personalized, dynamic and engaging” way to connect with entertainment and commerce from the living room.
