Streaming television service Free Live Sports (FLS) has inked a multi-platform distribution deal that allows it to reach more than 75 million homes around the world, the company announced this week.
The new deals includes a blockbuster arrangement with VIDAA, the streaming operating system backed by Hisense, which will include dozens of channels offered by FLS through its built-in menus and on the Hisense Channels free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) platform.
Additionally, FLS has signed distribution agreements that will make its linear sports channels available on Whale TV, Titan OS, Aniko, Rakuten TV and Swift TV. It is also bringing its sports channels to in-car information and entertainment systems through a pact with 3SS, the company said.
“This global expansion underscores the momentum behind Free Live Sports and the universal demand for accessible, high-quality sports content,” said Cathy Rasenberger, the President of Sports Studio Inc., which operates FLS. “Partnering with these world-class platforms allows us to reach millions of new fans while giving our channel partners even broader exposure. These distribution deals are the next step in our commitment to making world-class sports entertainment available to everyone, everywhere. It’s a transformative moment for FLS, and we’re just getting started.”
The distribution agreements help secure additional reach for FLS, which signed a similar arrangement with Xperi to bring its sports channels to TiVo OS back in October. That deal also involves the carriage of FLS channels on the DTS AutoStage Video Service, making them available in cars with infotainment systems powered by that technology.
More than 100 linear content channels are offered through the FLS service, which is available on desktop computers and through the free FLS app for mobile and connected TV devices. Those content streams include Stadium, BeIN Sports Xtra, Speed Sports 1, Sports Illustrated TV, Speedvision, Swerve Combat, Fight Nation, Willow, Tennis TV, Red Bull TV and the Cowboy Channel.
FLS also includes a library of on-demand content, including sports documentaries and sports-themes movies, with more than 1,000 titles to choose from.
