Free Live Sports, TiVo bringing free sports channels to smart TVs, cars

More than 45 sports content streams are coming to TiVo-powered smart TVs and infotainment systems, the companies said.

Free Live Sports will roll out 45 free ad-supported sports channels on devices powered by TiVo, including smart TVs and the DTS AutoStage Video Service available in select BMW vehicles, the companies announced Wednesday.

The partnership marks one of the largest sports-focused expansions on TiVo’s global platform, extending Free Live Sports’ reach to viewers in homes and on the road across multiple continents.

Through the deal, Free Live Sports programming will stream in three ways: via the DTS AutoStage Video Service Powered by TiVo in BMW vehicles worldwide; through TiVo OS-powered smart TVs across Europe and North America; and on IPTV video services supported by TiVo’s technology in North and Latin America.

The channel lineup includes live events, classic matches, emerging and niche sports, and original series. Among the networks included are Red Bull TV, Nitro Circus, Tennis Channel, Golf Network, PFL, GLORY, NHRA, Motorsport.tv, Big 12 Studios, Pac-12 Insider, BeIN Sports XTRA, and World Poker Tour. Free Live Sports said additional channels, including specialty and regional sports offerings, will be added over time.

Cathy Rasenberger, the President of Free Live Sports, called the agreement a “transformation” in how fans access live and on-demand sports.

“We’re bringing comprehensive, high-quality sports programming to viewers wherever they are — at home or on the road — leveraging TiVo’s powerful global platform,” Rasenberger said.

Scott Maddux, the Vice President of Global Content Strategy and Business Development for TiVo’s parent company Xperi, said the addition of Free Live Sports’ content strengthens the free streaming experience across TiVo devices.

“Free, compelling sports programming is an essential piece of the modern streaming experience,” Maddux noted. “Free Live Sports brings a diverse array of content that appeals to broad audiences.”

The move reinforces Free Live Sports’ position as one of the largest free sports content aggregators in the world. The company currently operates more than 120 ad-supported sports streaming channels and distributes live and on-demand programming from leagues and content partners globally.

TiVo’s operating system and IPTV platforms consolidate live television, streaming apps, and sports channels into one interface for smart TVs and pay-TV operators. Its DTS AutoStage Video Service extends that experience to vehicles, allowing drivers and passengers to continue watching live and on-demand programming through in-car displays.

The Free Live Sports rollout comes as both streaming and automotive manufacturers push deeper into personalized, ad-supported content delivery. For TiVo, the partnership underscores its strategy to embed its technology across multiple entertainment environments, from living rooms to dashboards.

Free Live Sports’ channels on TiVo-powered devices are expected to launch in the coming weeks, with global expansion to additional connected platforms planned for 2026.
