Roku has named former Snap and Meta Platforms executive Patrick Harris as its Senior Vice President of Global Media Revenue, a role that requires leading the streaming company’s ad sales strategy as it pursues a larger share of connected TV advertising budgets.
Harris starts at Roku on March 9 and report to Charlie Collier, the President of Roku Media. He will be convenient based steps away from Madison Avenue in New York City, the company confirmed on Wednesday.
In the newly-created position, Harris will oversee global CTV ad sales efforts across Roku’s streaming ecosystem, with a mandate that includes both traditional brand advertising and performance-driven campaigns designed to prompt specific consumer actions. Collier said Harris will help expand Roku’s capabilities across the full marketing funnel, particularly as advertisers demand measurable outcomes from connected TV investments.
Roku has emerged as a key intermediary in the streaming advertising marketplace, leveraging its operating system footprint and ad-supported Roku Channel to attract national and mid-sized marketers. The company has recently expanded partnerships with third-party demand-side platforms to enable broader programmatic buying and has rolled out tools such as its Ad Manager product to support creative development and campaign management.
At Snap, Harris was President of the company’s Americas business, overseeing relationships with Snap’s largest ad partners in the U.S. and Canada. His remit included sales, agency partnerships, ad-tech integrations, media relationships and creator collaborations.
Prior to Snap, Harris spent 12 years at Meta Platforms, ultimately serving as the company’s Vice President of Global Channels. In that role, he led a team of 1,400 employees across 30 countries and contributed to the expansion of Meta’s global advertising operations.
Earlier in his career, Harris held leadership roles at Microsoft, where he helped develop search advertising revenue for Bing, and at Reprise Media, which was later acquired by Interpublic Group. He began his digital marketing career at Ask Jeeves.
