ACA Connects has promoted Tomeika Slappy to Director of Operations, elevating a longtime staff member into a senior leadership role as the trade group continues to expand its member services and operational initiatives.

Slappy, who has been with ACA Connects for nearly a decade, most recently served as Manager of Member Services, where she oversaw administrative functions and supported the organization’s member relations efforts. In her new role, she will focus on advancing strategic priorities, improving operational efficiency and strengthening engagement with the association’s member base.

“I’m grateful and excited to see Tomeika take on this new leadership role,” said Grant Spellmeyer, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACA Connects, in a statement. “She has been a vital member of our team for more than ten years. In this new role, she will support our strategic initiatives, enhance our member services, and help ensure we continue to execute our mission and goals effectively.”

Slappy joined ACA Connects in 2016 as Assistant to the President and CEO, where she provided executive support and helped coordinate internal operations. Over time, she assumed broader responsibilities within the organization, culminating in her leadership of member services, a role that positioned her at the center of ACA Connects’ engagement with its network of independent broadband and communications providers.

She brings more than 30 years of professional experience across executive support and operational management, according to the organization.

ACA Connects represents approximately 500 small and mid-sized independent communications providers across the United States, collectively serving around 29.5 million households with broadband, video, voice and mobile services. Its members operate in both rural and urban markets, with a particular focus on expanding connectivity in smaller communities.

The organization advocates for policies that support independent operators and the broader telecommunications ecosystem, emphasizing the role of connectivity in economic development and access to essential services.
