CNN has expanded the distribution of its All Access streaming subscription by making the service available through Prime Video in the United States.
The move allows Amazon customers to subscribe directly to CNN’s streaming product through Prime Video Channels, adding another distribution outlet for the news network’s direct-to-consumer offering.
CNN All Access includes live access to CNN’s domestic and international news channels, original programming from CNN Originals, CNN Original Series and CNN Films, along with breaking news coverage, special events and exclusive on-demand content.
The subscription is priced at $6.99 per month or $41.99 annually under a promotional introductory offer.
“We launched CNN’s All Access subscription to make our journalism and original programming available wherever and however audiences prefer to engage,” said Alex MacCallum, the Chief Operating Officer of CNN Worldwide. “Expanding to Prime Video is a natural extension of that strategy as we remain committed to providing CNN’s world-class content to as many viewers as possible.”
The launch gives Prime Video Channels another news-focused subscription offering as Amazon continues to expand its marketplace of premium add-on services.
“We’re excited to bring CNN’s All Access subscription to Prime Video, adding yet another option to the wide selection of subscriptions available to our customers all in one place,” said Ryan Pirozzi, the Head of Prime Video Channels, U.S.
In addition to live news programming, subscribers will have access to CNN’s upcoming coverage surrounding the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Planned special programming includes “Independence Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen” on July 3 and “The Fourth in America” on July 4.
CNN said subscribers who purchase the service through Prime Video will also receive access to subscriber-only content on CNN.com and the CNN mobile app by authenticating with their Amazon credentials.
