Comcast’s Xfinity TV will offer customers with its X1 set-top boxes access to FIFA World Cup games in ultra high definition (UHD/4K), the company confirmed on Monday.
The news was announced in a broader press release about a week after Comcast executives invited select trade publications to preview the features.
The new features include access to games in English on Fox Sports and Spanish on Comcast’s own Telemundo in 4K resolution, plus the ability to follow several matches at the same time through a multi-view window.
Comcast also said it will be supporting highlights from World Cup matches that are pieced together using artificial intelligence.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup starts on June 11.
