Radial Entertainment has appointed longtime streaming distribution executive Brendon Thomas as its new Chief Revenue Officer, placing him in charge of revenue strategy across the company’s film and television library, recent acquisitions and growing global content portfolio.
Thomas joins the company from Paramount Global, where he most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Distribution and Business Development.
In the newly created role, Thomas will oversee revenue-generating operations across distribution, licensing, advertising, business development and expansion into new markets.
Thomas is the second former Paramount executive to move to Radial in the past few months. Last December, Radial parent Oaktree Capital Management appointed former Paramount Chief Strategy Officer Jeff Shultz to serve in the CEO role.
The appointment comes as owners of film and television libraries seek new ways to generate revenue from content across streaming platforms, FAST channels, advertising-supported services and international distribution.
“Brendon and I have built together for nearly a decade,” Shultz said in a statement on Wednesday. “He led our most important distribution deals and strategic partnerships at Paramount and he’s the best commercial operator I know.”
Thomas will oversee a leadership team that includes Julie Dansker, Executive Vice President of Global Licensing and International Distribution, Daniel Gagliardi, Executive Vice President of North American Digital Distribution, and Matt Katrosar, Executive Vice President of Global Advertising and Partnerships.
Thomas will focus on strengthening platform and advertiser relationships, improving coordination across revenue teams and identifying new growth opportunities for Radial’s content business.
“Independent content libraries are entering their most valuable era,” Thomas said. “Platforms need scale, advertisers want premium AVOD inventory, and global FAST is still in early innings.”
Thomas brings more than a decade of experience in streaming distribution and platform partnerships.
At Paramount Global, he oversaw relationships with major device manufacturers and distribution platforms across services including Paramount Plus, Pluto TV, Showtime and BET Plus. According to Radial, those partnerships represented approximately $8 billion in annual revenue.
Before that, Thomas served as the Head of Global Distribution for Pluto TV, joining the free streaming service during its early years and remaining through its acquisition by Viacom in 2019. During his tenure, Pluto TV grew from a startup service into one of the largest FAST platforms in the industry.
