Free streaming television service Local Now has renewed its content distribution agreement with Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) that allows it to continue offering up news and entertainment channels from the entertainment giant.

The deal will allow Local Now users to access free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels like CNN Headlines, CNN Originals, WB Crime Scenes, WB How To and WB At the Movies through the app, which is widely supported on smartphones, tablets and smart TVs.

WBD began offering its channels through Local Now last summer, with the company bringing more than two dozen English-language and Spanish-language content streams to the service. WBD is in the process of being acquired by Paramount, whose CBS-branded local and national news streams are also offered through the app.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and it was not clear if the distribution deal involves a revenue-sharing arrangement from commercials streamed on the channels. Such deals are common in the FAST industry, where distributors and programmers divvy up advertising revenue based on certain terms.

In addition to Local Now, WBD’s FAST channels are available on free services like Pluto TV, Fox-owned Tubi and Plex.

Local Now is owned by Allen Media Group.
