Veteran broadcaster Ray Cortopassi returned to Central Indiana as the new co-host of “Indy Now,” the weekday lifestyle program produced by Nexstar’s television stations in Indianapolis.
Cortopassi joins Jillian Deam on the program beginning September 22, the broadcaster announced in a press release on Tuesday.
Indy Now airs weekdays at 10 a.m. on WXIN (Channel 59, Fox) , with a replay the following weekday at 9 a.m. on WTTV (Channel 4, CBS). The program highlights people, businesses, events and community stories across Central Indiana.
Cortopassi returned to the market after spending six years at WGN-TV (Channel 9), Nexstar’s station in Chicago. Before that, he spent more than two decades reporting and anchoring in Indianapolis, including 11 years at WXIN.
The move also reunites Cortopassi and Deam, who previously worked together in Indianapolis. Station officials said their prior on-air partnership helped make the pairing a natural fit for the next phase of “Indy Now.”
“Ray has a genuine connection to this community because it is home,” Dominic Mancuso, the Vice President and General Manager of WXIN and WTTV, said in a statement on Tuesday. “People know him, they trust him, and we are thrilled to welcome him back. Pairing him with Jillian again is a natural fit, and we are excited about what is ahead for Indy Now.”
Deam said she was looking forward to working with Cortopassi again.
“We have worked together before, and there is already a level of comfort and chemistry there,” Deam affirmed. “I am excited for what is ahead and cannot wait to share it with our audience.”
Cortopassi said his return to Central Indiana marks a meaningful career move.
“While I wasn’t born a Hoosier, Central Indiana has always felt like home,” Cortopassi said. “The chance to come back, reconnect with this community and work alongside Jillian again is incredibly meaningful. I am looking forward to getting started.”
