AT&T WarnerMedia’s streaming service HBO Max has finally landed on LG’s lineup of high-end smart TV sets, the companies announced in a press release on Tuesday.
The move allows streamers with LG smart TVs manufactured after 2018 to download HBO Max natively on their TV sets with no separate streaming device required.
The app is only available on high-end smart TVs made by LG — those with OLED, Mini LED or NanoCell technology — which has the potential to cut out streaming households with a budget LG high definition or 4K-capable set, even if their device uses the latest version of webOS.
Users of LG TV sets can check their compatibility by searching for HBO Max in LG’s content store or by saying “HBO Max” in their voice-powered remote control.
