The Walt Disney Company says its flagship Disney Plus streaming service is slated to launch in nearly five dozen more countries and territories later this summer.
The service, which offers hundreds of movies and TV shows from the Walt Disney library and subsidiary studios, will debut in South Africa on May 18 at a cost of R $119 (about US $8.10) per month.
Disney Plus will roll out to viewers in Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Estonia, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Poland, Turkey and other countries between June 8 and June 16, the company said.
“Users will have access to high-quality viewing, up to four concurrent streams, unlimited downloads on up to ten devices, IMAX Enhanced for selected titles…and the ability to set up to seven different profiles, including the ability for parents to set Kids Profiles that have an easy-to-navigate child-friendly interface to access age-appropriate content,” a Disney spokesperson said in a press release on Thursday.
Disney Plus gives users access to a vast catalog of Walt Disney films as well as movies and television shows from the Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel and National Geographic brands. In many countries, Disney Plus also offers non-mature adult-oriented programming from 21st Century Fox, including the hit animated sitcom “The Simpsons.”
