DirecTV Stream said on Monday it would add four new channels to its basic package of live broadcast and cable networks.
The networks include the Ion Television network, which was acquired by the E.W. Scripps Company for nearly $3 billion in 2020. DirecTV Stream is the first streaming nationally-available streaming television service to carry Ion Television
Along with Ion Television, two other Scripps networks — Bounce TV and Grit — are also joining the line-up. Ion Television and Bounce will become the official home of the Scripps National Spelling Bee this summer; previously, it aired on cable sports channel ESPN.
Comcast’s comedy and drama-centric broadcast network Cozi TV will also join the line-up of channels offered on DirecTV Stream, the company affirmed on Monday.
DirecTV Stream offers dozens of nationally-distributed broadcast and cable networks starting at $70 a month.
