Budget streaming television service Frndly TV has added several channels owned by the E. W. Scripps Company, as well as a channel from Weigel Broadcasting, to its line-up of family-oriented networks.

Starting today, Frndly TV subscribers have access to three of Scripps’ broadcast and ad-supported streaming channels — Ion, Grit and Ion Mystery (formerly Court TV Mystery) — as part of the service’s base subscription package, which costs $7 a month.

Additionally, after telling customers for months that the network was “coming soon,” Frndly TV has finally added Weigel and Fox’s retro film channel Movies! to its line-up, marking the first time the channel has been offered on a streaming pay television service. Movies! offers classic movies from the Walt Disney Company, Sony Pictures, Shout Factory, Warner Bros Discovery, Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures.

Last week, Frndly TV added Cowboy Way, a new channel that shares common ownership with INSP. The channel offers Western and classic television shows.

In addition to the new channels, Frndly TV offers around four dozen other networks, including the History Channel, A&E, Game Show Network, the Weather Channel, Vice, Story Television, Decades, Heroes & Icons, Me TV, Hallmark Channel, Lifetime and Great American Family. The same channels are offered across Frndly TV’s three streaming plans: Basic ($7 a month, one stream, standard definition video), Classic ($9 a month, two simultaneous streams, high-definition video, 90-day cloud DVR) and Premium ($11 a month, four simultaneous streams, high-definition video, 9-month cloud DVR).

Frndly TV offers on-demand access to programs from some channels, as well as a 72-hour watchback feature. The service is supported across all major streaming TV platforms, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV (Google TV), Apple TV, on smartphones, tablets and on web browsers. A seven-day free trial is available by clicking or tapping here.
