T-Mobile gifts MLS Season Pass to customers

T-Mobile is giving away a one-year free subscription to Apple’s MLS Season Pass as part of the company’s rewards program.

The free, year-long subscription is available to T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app on smartphones, and must be redeemed by March 14. MLS Season Pass expires in January 2024, according to terms and conditions found on the T-Mobile website.

“T-Mobile customers already get unbeatable value with entertainment benefits like Apple TV Plus on Us, and now we’re giving them yet another with one year of MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app on Us,” Mike Katz, the president of marketing and innovation at T-Mobile, said in a statement. “With the Un-carrier, you don’t just get access to the nation’s leading 5G network, you also get some serious value with so much included on top of your wireless plan.”

Offering a sports pass is not unprecedented for T-Mobile: For several years, the company has offered subscribers access to MLB.TV, the premium television service for out-of-market Major League Baseball games. T-Mobile is a sponsor of MLB.

Apple became the global television partner for Major League Soccer last summer, with the tech company making live MLS games available through its own Apple TV app for iPhones, iPads and streaming TV devices.

“For the first time in the history of sports, fans will be able to access everything from a major professional sports league in one place,” Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior executive in charge of the company’s services division, said in a statement last June. “It’s a dream come true for MLS fans, soccer fans, and anyone who loves sports. No fragmentation, no frustration — just the flexibility to sign up for one convenient service that gives you everything MLS, anywhere and anytime you want to watch. We can’t wait to make it easy for even more people to fall in love with MLS and root for their favorite club.”

Matches that are broadcast in the United States will include English and Spanish audio tracks, while Canadian matches will feature English and French commentary. On-demand content will be available alongside live events.
