Dish Network’s ad-supported service Sling Freestream is adding six new channels and thousands of hours of content from female-strong, Spanish-language television brand Canela.TV, officials at Canela Media said on Tuesday.
More than 10,000 hours of general entertainment content will be made available on Sling Freestream, along with five Canela.TV-branded linear channels.
“We’re excited to be a part of Sling’s new Freestream service to extend the reach of Canela.TV to new audiences looking for quality content, free and in Español,” Isabel Rafferty Zavala, the founder and CEO of Canela Media, said in a statement provided to The Desk. “Canela.TV has a wide range of free culturally relevant content that cannot be found on other platforms.”
The new channels added to Sling Freestream are:
- Canela.TV
- Canela Telenovelas
- Canela Clasicos
- Canela Deportes
- Canela Cinema
The addition of the five new Canela.TV channels brings the total number of Spanish-language content offered on Sling Freestream to more than 85. In total, Sling Freestream offers nearly 400 linear streams of television shows, movies, documentaries, news and sports.
