More than 3.2 million Americans tuned in to watch former President Donald Trump’s town hall-style interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Tuesday, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research.

The one-hour program grabbed 55 percent of the cable news share among the key demographic of viewers ages 25 to 54 years old (A25-54), a group that is attractive to cable news advertisers, with more than 327,000 viewers in that data set. Among all viewers, Fox News had 60 percent of the cable news share in the 7 p.m. Eastern time slot, according to Nielsen.

By comparison, MSNBC saw 1.39 million overall viewers during the 7 p.m. hour, with around 131,900 A25-54 viewers. CNN had 742,000 overall viewers and around 135,700 A25-54 viewers in the same time slot.

The special edition of “The Ingraham Angle” scored its highest ratings since Fox News the program moved to the 7 p.m. time slot last summer.

In prime-time, Fox News had 2.7 million overall viewers and 284,000 in the key A25-54 group between the prime-time hours of 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern.

The town hall interview with Trump took place in Greenville, South Carolina. The state will hold its Republican primary vote on February 24.

The Fox News Channel is operated by Fox News Media, a subsidiary of Fox Corporation.
