Around a dozen services operated by Apple suffered from a massive outage on Wednesday that left millions of users unable to watch TV programs, stream music, listen to podcasts or download apps.
The outage started around 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time (3:30 p.m. Pacific Time), and impacted users of Apple’s core consumer services, including Apple Music, Apple Fitness, Apple TV Plus, Apple Podcasts and the Apple App Store.
A message on an Apple website that tracks service-related disruptions said the company was aware of it and investigating the problem, but offered no insight into what the cause of the bug or when Apple might have a fix in place.

- Mac App Store
In addition to the above consumer services, Apple said it was also experiencing service disruptions related to three enterprise-focused products: Apple Business Essentials, Apple Business Manager and Apple School Manager. Those services were suffering from unknown bugs since at least 8:40 a.m. Eastern Time (5:40 a.m. Pacific Time), with no known solution or estimated time of restoration.
Other services like Apple Cash, Apple Card, FaceTime, Apple HomeKit and Find My were unaffected by the outage.
The outage was the second large-scale disruption on Wednesday, after Meta Platforms reported a global connection issue with its WhatsApp messaging platform. The glitch caused issues for other Meta-owned products around the same time, including Facebook, Instagram and Threads.
Large-scale disruptions have become common over the past few months, with similar outages impacting Meta, AT&T and X (formerly Twitter), resulting in several hours of downtime for services relied upon by hundreds of millions of users.
