Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) has inked an agreement with Titan OS, the developer of a streaming-focused technology and advertising platform, to distribute two of its channels via Titan OS-powered Smart TVs in Europe.
The channels, CNN Fast and CNN International, will be available in the United Kingdom and Germany, while CNN FAST will also be distributed in Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, the companies said.
The Titan OS free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) platform is available on Titan OS-powered TVs made by Philips, and on some Android TV-powered sets made by Sony via an app download.
CNN International offers live breaking news and general stories of interest, as well as simulcast of shows available on the U.S. version of CNN, while CNN Fast offers curated playlists of news clips from CNN programming throughout the day.
“It is great to reach new audiences on Titan OS who can now keep informed with CNN International’s renowned global reporting and breaking news around the clock,” Humphrey Black, the Vice President of Distribution at CNN International Commercial, said in a statement. “Those who prefer shorter updates can enjoy CNN Fast‘s quick-paced insights covering everything from global events and business to the latest lifestyle news. We’re excited to offer different ways for viewers to watch CNN content across Europe.”
Titan OS already distributes a number of news-focused streaming channels and public service broadcasters on its platform, including Bloomberg TV, France 24, Actualidad 360 and Euronews.
“The news genre continues to be one of the top-performing categories on FAST,” said Judith Díaz, the Director of Content Partnerships at Titan OS. “The launch of CNN marks a significant milestone in our channel lineup, enhancing our news offering with the addition of both CNN International and CNN Fast.”
Titan OS launched earlier this year with the backing of TPV Philips through its TP Vision business. The company primarily targets streaming TV users in Europe and Latin America with its connected TV operating system and related advertising business.
