Fubo has struck a sponsorship deal with the Texas Rangers that will see the sports-centric streaming service offer locally-televised games from the baseball team.

The games will be offered through the new Rangers Sports Network, which launched on Fubo this week. The sponsorship deal also makes Fubo a “Proud Partner” of the Texas Rangers, and will include Fubo branding at Globe Life Field.

“As the streaming leader in Major League Baseball coverage, we cannot be more thrilled to add Rangers Sports Network to Fubo,” Todd Mathers, the Executive Vice President of Content Strategy and Acquisition at Fubo, said in a statement. “Our robust carriage and sponsorship agreement means Fubo subscribers can watch Texas Rangers baseball all season long while engaging with the team through multiple fan opportunities.”

“Since the launch of Rangers Sports Network was announced in January, we have continued to work on additional agreements to provide options to watch our games,” said Neil Leibman, the Chairman of the Rangers Sports Media and Entertainment Company. “Fubo’s carriage of RSN gives fans another tremendous avenue to watch Rangers baseball this season. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Fubo and hope that fans will take advantage of this new opportunity.”

The Texas Rangers are one of several baseball teams whose games were previously offered on regional sports networks operated by Diamond Sports Group. Diamond Sports filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2023, a move that allowed Major League Baseball (MLB) and some of its clubs to retake local TV rights to their games.

Diamond Sports, now Main Street Sports, opted out of its TV agreement with the Texas Rangers and a handful of other teams last year. The club founded its own media enterprise and inked deals with local cable TV providers and the streaming service Victory Plus (stylized as Victory+) for carriage of the Rangers Sports Network, which debuted earlier this year.

Fubo has long posited itself as a leader in streaming sports, and the company has deals with a number of broadcasters to offer local and national sports-inclusive channels from coast to coast. The company is in the process of merging its pay TV business with that of the Walt Disney Company’s Hulu with Live TV, which is still awaiting approval from federal regulators.
