Gray Media is partnering with Major League Baseball (MLB) to bring a handful of St. Louis Cardinals games to free broadcast TV this season.

A total of six games will air on KMOV (Channel 4, CBS) and sister station KDTL-LD (Channel 32) between April and June, with five already announced.

The five games that will air on the two stations are:

  • Friday, April 25 (vs. Milwaukee Brewers)
  • Friday, May 16 (at Kansas City Royals)
  • Friday, May 30 (at Texas Rangers)
  • Friday, June 6 (vs. Los Angeles Dodgers)
  • Friday, June 20 (vs. Cincinnati Reds)

“We are excited that, for the first time in 15 years, fans can watch our games across Cardinals Nation for free and over-the-air, bringing the Cardinals into more homes than ever before,” Anuk Karunaratne, the Senior Vice President of Business Operations at the St. Louis Cardinals, said in a statement. “This expanded reach means more families, communities, and lifelong fans can share in the excitement of Cardinals baseball and cheer on our hometown team throughout the season.”

“KMOV and Matrix Midwest are proud to serve our viewers in St. Louis and across the region, by bringing iconic Cardinals baseball back to free, over-the-air broadcasts,” J.D. Sosnoff, the General Manager of KMOV and KDTL, said on Friday. “Along with our market-leading co-owned television stations across Cardinals Country, we are ready to bring the excitement from Busch Stadium to the fans.”

A handful of other Gray Media-owned stations are also planning to simulcast the KMOV-aired Cardinals games, including outlets in Springfield, Memphis, Jonesboro, Peoria, Sioux City, Cedar Rapids, Davenport and other markets.

The deal is the latest to involve Gray Media and a major sports team or league. The company also has deals or sublicensing agreements in place to make games from the Memphis Grizzlies, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Braves, Dallas Mavericks (in partnership with TEGNA), New Orleans Pelicans and Chicago-area sports on free broadcast TV.
