Key Points:

  • LG is partnering with Stingray Music to expand its free LG Radio+ streaming service.
  • The updated LG Radio+ streaming app now offers more than 200 music channels, podcasts and personalized playlists.
  • New UI and AI audio tools enhance listening on LG Smart TVs with the latest version of the webOS platform.

LG Electronics has partnered with Stingray Music to expand and enhance LG Radio+, the company’s free, ad-supported audio streaming service available on LG Smart TVs.

The revamped LG Radio+ app, available through the LG Content Store and Music Portal on devices running webOS 6.0 or newer, now offers more than 200 music channels and hundreds of thousands of songs spanning multiple genres. The update also introduces a redesigned user interface that combines live radio, curated playlists and podcasts in one streamlined experience.

The new partnership brings Stingray Music’s extensive global library of professionally curated channels to LG Smart TVs, including programming tailored to regional tastes and cultures. In the United States, listeners can access a wide range of channels such as “Today’s Pop,” “Greatest Hits,” “Country Classics” and “Americana Road Trip.” Stingray’s lineup also emphasizes global genres like K-pop, with channels such as “K-Pop Summer Hits,” “Korean Ballads” and “Hot 100 Korea,” each refreshed weekly to reflect the latest music trends.

“LG’s Radio+ is setting a new bar for engaging customer experiences, and we at Stingray are thrilled to expand our collaboration as their music partner for this exciting new offering,” said Jim Riley, the President of Stingray Music USA. “Music is the universal language and the string that binds us across borders and generations.”

Chris Jo, the lead executive in charge of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG’s Media Entertainment Solution Company, said the collaboration with Stingray underscores LG’s ongoing effort to deliver more free, high-quality content to its users.

“Our new partnership with industry leader Stingray will bring LG TV owners a wealth of free content, empowering them to enjoy all the content they love at their convenience,” Jo said in a statement.

To enhance playback, LG Radio+ supports the company’s AI Sound Pro and Clear Voice Pro technologies. AI Sound Pro automatically optimizes audio based on genre and environment, while Clear Voice Pro sharpens human speech for improved clarity in podcasts and talk shows.

The redesigned app interface allows users to easily browse channels, access podcasts, and save preferred stations to a personalized Favorites page. A new side menu offers quick navigation between Home, Music, On-Air and Podcast sections, which the company says will create a smoother, more-user friendly experience for those with LG smart TVs.
