Paramount Global has secured the exclusive streaming rights to UEFA Champions League games offered in the United Kingdom, starting with the 2027 season.
The games will move to Paramount Plus from TNT Sports, which has offered the games on their channel (previously known as BT Sport) for several years. TNT Sports owner Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) is currently in the process of reviewing acquisition bids, including a formal offer made by Paramount last week.
Paramount’s deal will run through the 2031 season. The domestic TV rights deal is valued at more than $11.5 billion. Paramount already offers UEFA Champions League games in the United States through Paramount Plus under a separate media rights deal with the sports franchise.
In addition to telecast rights in the U.K., Paramount will also offer live games in Germany through its Paramount Plus service, the league said. Amazon’s Prime Video will offer one week’s worth of UEFA Champions League games in both countries, with Paramount having the rights to the rest.
It Italy, Prime Video will also air one week’s worth of games, with Comcast’s Sky Italia clinching the in-country rights to the remainder of the events. Sky Group also secured the rights to UEFA Europe League and UEFA Conference League games aired in the United Kingdom and Italy.
Canal Plus will offer all UEFA Champions League matches and the second- and third-tier conference games in France.
