Fresh from its agreement to acquire streaming audio platform TuneIn, Canadian music company Stingray says it has inked a new deal with Amazon that will see several of its own channels offered through Prime Video for free.

The channels are available on Prime Video in the United States, starting this week, and expands the amount of music content available through the free linear TV section of the app.

The five channels rolling out on Prime Video this week are:

  • Stingray Remember the 80s
  • Stingray Smooth Jazz
  • Stingray Hot Country
  • Stingray Easy Listening
  • Stingray The Spa

“We are thrilled to bring our expertly curated music channels to a wider audience,” said Rick Bergan, the Head of Content Distribution for the U.S. at Stingray. “This allows us to deliver high-quality, mood-lifting music experiences directly to listeners’ living rooms. Whether they want to relax, reminisce, or discover new artists, these five distinct channels offer something for everyone, enhancing their entertainment options.”

The distribution of Stingray’s channels through Prime Video builds on a relationship with Amazon that was first announced in August, when Stingray’s music streams became available through the Fire TV Channels platform on Amazon’s own streaming devices.

In addition to Prime Video for Fire TV gadgets, Amazon is distrubting Stingray’s music channels through its Prime Video app for other platforms, including Roku, Android TV (Google TV), Apple TV and smart TVs made by Samsung, LG, Vizio and others.

Stingray’s channels are also available through other free, ad-supported streaming TV apps, including LG Channels and Plex.
