Fox News led all news brands and broadcast networks on YouTube in January, delivering 466 million video views in what the network called its best January performance on the platform, according to data from Emplifi.
The network’s January YouTube viewership increased 14 percent on a year-over basis and 60 percent compared to December, outpacing MS NOW (339 million views), CNN (237 million views), ABC News (124 million views), NBC News (118 million views) and CBS News (56 million views).
Fox News Clips, the network’s secondary YouTube channel, generated 49.3 million video views in January, marking a 92 percent increase month-over-month.
Fox News Media also led all news brands in social media interactions for the month, according to Emplifi. The network delivered 175 million total social media interactions in January, with Facebook accounting for 104 million interactions, TikTok generating 38.3 million interactions, Instagram driving 25.4 million interactions and X.com (formerly Twitter) contributing 7 million interactions.
The network’s social media video views reached more than 2.6 billion in January, which Fox News described as its second-best month on record for that metric.
The strong digital performance comes as news organizations continue to prioritize social media and streaming platforms to reach audiences beyond traditional linear television. YouTube has become an increasingly important distribution channel for news content, with networks using the platform to share clips, full episodes and live programming.
According to Nielsen, YouTube regularly commands more than one-tenth of all time spent with television and is the largest distributor of media for that format in a given month. YouTube doesn’t release its own data on what people are watching at any given time.
