Comcast’s NBC Universal is now selling subscriptions to its streaming service Peacock through The Roku Channel, with plans to sell access to the streaming service via another platform in the coming months.
On Tuesday, the broadcaster confirmed earlier reports of Peacock‘s launch on The Roku Channel’s streaming marketplace, where a subscription to Peacock Premium Plus — the commercial-free variant of the app — is available for $17 per month or $170 per year.
Peacock Premium Plus offers uninterrupted access to on-demand TV shows and movies from Peacock’s catalog, and live simulcasts of sports airing on NBC, USA Network and NBCSN, among other channels.
The deal expands Roku’s partnership with NBC Universal, which also includes distribution of NBC’s free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels like SNL Vault and NBC News Now through the Live TV section of The Roku Channel. Peacock has been available as a streaming app on Roku devices since late 2020, months after it initially launched on other platforms.
On Roku, Peacock Premium Plus is available through a streaming marketplace called Premium Subscriptions, where it is sold alongside other apps like Starz, Paramount Plus with Showtime, AMC Plus and MGM Plus.
“With Premium Subscriptions, our goal is simple: To make it easier for viewers to discover and watch the content they love without keeping track of multiple apps and logins,” said Roku’s President of Subscriptoins, Partnerships & Corporate Development Gil Fuchsberg in a statement on Tuesday. “Peacock is an important addition to our growing lineup of Premium Subscriptions, and we’re thrilled to give Roku customers another way to discover and engage with NBC Universal’s world-class entertainment and sports.”
Roku customers who elect to purchase Peacock Premium Plus through the Premium Subscription section of their devices will use Roku Pay to start and manage their membership. Roku Pay is also a billion option within the Peacock app itself.
“At NBC Universal, our first priority is serving our fandoms and making it easier for our audiences to find and enjoy the content they love,” said Matt Schnaars, the President of Platform Distribution & Partnerships at NBC Universal. “By bringing Peacock Premium Plus to Premium Subscriptions on The Roku Channel, we’re expanding access to our world-class programming and giving fans more choice in how they watch.”
The launch of Peacock Premium Plus on Roku’s Premium Subscriptions portal is the latest example of the two companies working together to super-serve streaming users with Roku devices. Earlier this year, Roku rolled out a dedicated menu for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which streamed in its entirety on Peacock. The same menu was available two years earlier for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
In the coming months, NBC Universal will also start selling subscriptions to Peacock Premium Plus through YouTube Primetime Channels, the streaming marketplace for third-party apps within the YouTube ecosystem, the company confirmed. That partnership follows a distribution agreement that was signed between NBC and YouTube’s streaming cable replacement YouTube TV last year, which includes the continued distribution of NBC and Versant-owned broadcast and cable channels.
Peacock has become a key destination for NBC Universal to distribute its content directly to consumers as the company diversifies its pipelines to bring TV shows, sports, news and movies to fans. Last week, Comcast disclosed Peacock has 46 million subscribers; the streaming app is only available in the United States, though content from Peacock is distributed by other apps overseas, including Comcast and Paramount’s joint venture SkyShowtime.
