Charter Communications has rolled out a new feature for its Spectrum Mobile customers that allows subscribers to add a second phone number to their primary device.

The new “Second Line” feature is available for $10 per month, and is available to customers who have dual eSIM devices, including newer-model Apple iPhones and most modern Android phones.

The perk allows Spectrum Mobile customers to have two phone numbers attached to a single device, with both phone numbers sharing a customer’s data allotment.

“Our customers want practical ways to keep their work and personal life organized on one device,” said David Owens, the Senior Vice President of Mobile Products at Spectrum. “It’s a simple, integrated way to manage different numbers, whether for business or personal, without extra devices or toggling between apps.”

Charter said the Second Line feature is geared toward professionals who want a second phone number for their job, or anyone who wants a second number that is separate from their primary number, without having to juggle two devices.

The Second Line perk can be added on by any customer using the Spectrum website, the My Spectrum smartphone app or by calling customer service. Customers who already have a phone number with another provider can switch to Spectrum and take advantage of the Second Line perk, or they can generate a new number when they sign up.

Spectrum Mobile uses Verizon’s 4G LTE and 5G wireless network. The company grew its mobile business to serve 12.1 million lines during its most-recent financial quarter.
