Charter Communications has promoted Dave Rodrian to serve as the Senior Vice President of Connectivity Products at its Spectrum brand, where he will oversee the company’s Internet, Wi-Fi and Voice offerings under a newly-formed organization called the Connectivity group.
Rodrian will lead the integrated Connectivity group, which is tasked with shaping product strategy and accelerating development across Spectrum’s core residential and business connectivity services, the company said in a statement on Monday. The move comes as Spectrum seeks to realign its business units to reflect how customers interact with its bundled service products and to streamline innovation efforts along that front.
The appointment comes as longtime executive Carl Leuschner prepares to retire after 17 years with the company, Charter said in its announcement. Leuschner most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Internet and Voice Products, a role he held for seven years.
In a statement, Spectrum Executive Vice President of Product Danny Bowman said the reorganization is intended to unify product development and improve customer experience.
“To better reflect how customers experience our services and to accelerate innovation, we are bringing together Internet, Wi-Fi and Voice into a single organization under Dave’s leadership,” Bowman said. “Dave’s deep expertise in connectivity and proven track record in product development make him ideally suited to lead this team and deliver for our customers.”
Rodrian joined Spectrum in 2009 and has held multiple leadership roles spanning product development and connectivity services. Most recently, he served as the Group Vice President of Wi-Fi Products, where he oversaw the rollout of the company’s Advanced Wi-Fi portfolio, including routers built on Wi-Fi 6E technology and the introduction of Wi-Fi 7 offerings.
Under his leadership, Spectrum expanded its in-home connectivity ecosystem, including the launch of Wi-Fi 7 extenders and a branded service known as Invincible Wi-Fi. The latter received industry recognition from Wi-Fi Now as a top in-home connectivity solution. Rodrian also led initiatives tied to Spectrum’s Speed Boost feature and network optimization through its mobile wireless infrastructure.
Earlier in his tenure, Rodrian served as the Group Vice President of Internet Products, where he led development of broadband services including the deployment of DOCSIS 3.1 technology and the expansion of 1 Gbps internet speeds across Spectrum’s footprint. He also held leadership roles overseeing Voice, Email and Customer Identity product teams.
Prior to joining Spectrum, Rodrian worked at Level 3 Communications in corporate strategy and development.
Rodrian holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in engineering management from Duke University. He currently serves on the board of directors for CUJO AI and is credited with three U.S. patents.
