
Fox News Media is recognizing the United States’ 250th anniversary with a refreshed brand identity that includes a new web portal for America 250 and an updated look-and-feel to its free mobile apps, The Desk has learned.
The updated Fox News app, which rolled out this week, features America 250-themed branding, including fireworks graphics at the top of the interface and a commemorative America 250 logo. The refreshed design mirrors patriotic branding already introduced through other Fox News Digital properties as the company ramps up coverage of next year’s semi-quincentennial celebration.
The redesign also introduces a dedicated America 250 content hub within the app and the Fox News website, allowing its audience to more easily access related news stories, videos and special reports commemorating the nation’s 250th birthday. Next week, the dedicated America 250 landing page on the website and within the app that will aggregate anniversary coverage from across the company’s news operation, a Fox News Media spokesperson affirmed.

The digital initiative also will include live blogs providing real-time updates, reporting and highlights from America 250 events taking place across the country throughout the holiday week. Fox News said audiences also will be able to watch live streams from anniversary celebrations nationwide through its digital platforms.
The enhanced digital coverage is part of a broader America 250 strategy that extends beyond the Fox News Channel and includes streaming and online platforms. The company said the effort is intended to provide comprehensive coverage of the anniversary while giving audiences multiple ways to follow events and commemorations from across the United States.
The Fox News smartphone and tablet apps are available for free in most major app stores, including those for Apple and Android devices. A Fox News smart TV app is also widely supported on most popular platforms, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV (Google TV).
Fox News Digital was the most-visited news brand online during the month of May, according to data from Comscore. The news outlet logged ecorded 164.7 million total digital multiplatform unique visitors during May, marking its third consecutive month atop the rankings. The company also led all competitors in multiplatform views for the 25th straight month and multiplatform minutes for the 63rd consecutive month.
