Fox Corporation’s Spanish-language cable sports network Fox Deportes is marking its 30th anniversary with a slate of new programming that includes additional studio shows and live sports rights.
The new line-up officially debuted on September 1 and includes programming focused on soccer, broader sports news, debates and youth culture, the network said in a press release.
Fox Deportes is also expanding its live sports portfolio with additional soccer, wrestling and baseball rights. The six new programs are “Cuadro Titular,” “Fox 365,” “Los Espartanos with José Pablo Coello,” “Código Fox Fútbol,” “Los Referentes” and “Mother Soccer.”
On the live sports side, Fox Deportes has secured exclusive rights to home matches involving the men’s and women’s teams of Mexico’s Club Necaxa. The network is also adding matches from Guatemala’s CSD Municipal, weekly AAA wrestling programs and select games from Mexican baseball leagues.
“Fox Deportes has set the standard for Spanish-language sports television in the U.S. since its founding in 1996 and will continue to lead the way with this exciting new lineup of sports content featuring an elite talent roster and new properties,” Carlos Martinez, the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Fox Latin America, said in a statement this week.
Fox Deportes said its expanded operation includes more than 150 on-air personalities across the United States, Mexico and Central America. The channel originally launched in 1996 on cable and satellite platforms in the United States.
The network will continue carrying Major League Baseball, including the World Series, along with NFL games, NASCAR and IndyCar racing. Its soccer portfolio includes leagues in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and Saudi Arabia, as well as Major League Soccer and other international matches and tournaments.
Fox Deportes makes its full programming slate available through the streaming platform Fox One, which also includes other Fox-owned channels like Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network and Fox Weather along with live simulcasts of local Fox stations and affiliates across the country.
In addition to its sports programming, Fox Deportes supports some Spanish-language initiatives from Fox News Media, including “Fox Noticias,” which launched two years ago.
