DirecTV launches rewards program for satellite, Internet subscribers

DirecTV has launched a new rewards program that will offer loyal subscribers a chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes and other incentives within its first few weeks.

The program, called DirecTV Perks, is open to new and existing subscribers of DirecTV’s core services — DirecTV via Satellite and DirecTV via Internet. It works by offering customers tokens based on their longevity with the service and other elements like on-time bill payments or weekly contests, with the tokens redeemable for various prizes and sweepstakes.

“DirecTV Perks membership is another way to showcase our commitment to rewarding customers and reinforce our appreciation for their loyalty,” Vince Torres, the chief marketing officer at DirecTV, said in a statement.

DirecTV said more than 80 percent of consumers are interested in a rewards program, and around 50 percent of DirecTV subscribers said a loyalty program would help with customer satisfaction.

The loyalty program is kicking off with a campaign called “14 Days of Love, which will give existing DirecTV subscribers a shot at winning prizes totaling over $100,000 each day between February 14 and February 27.

“One thousand lucky recipients will be chosen at random, and prizes include gift cards from various retailers which can be redeemed for things like a living room space refresh, tech upgrades, food delivery programs, hotel stays, and more,” a DirecTV spokesperson said.

DirecTV Perks is available today for new and existing DirecTV customers, and can be accessed on a dedicated webpage by clicking or tapping here. Subscribers of DirecTV Stream are not eligible for the program.
