Roku users can now purchase a subscription to the lifestyle and general entertainment streaming service Discovery Plus from within the Roku Channel, the companies said on Monday.

The integration allows Roku users to sign up for and watch Discovery Plus content from within the Roku Channel app without having to download the Discovery Plus app itself.

The subscription offered through the Roku Channel app is Discovery Plus’ ad-free tier, which costs $7 a month. New subscribers who sign up for Discovery Plus through the Roku Channel are being offered a free trial to the service before they are billed.

Discovery Plus offers general entertainment, lifestyle and knowledge programming from the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, the Oprah Winfrey Network, A&E, the History Channel, BBC Studios, the Science Channel, Vice TV and others.

Discovery’s live channels are not offered through the service. Philo, a wallet-friendly streaming service, offers live access to Discovery, Animal Planet, the History Channel, A&E, Vice TV and five dozen other cable networks for $25 a month.

Discovery Plus is programmed and distributed by Warner Bros Discovery, which also operates HBO Max and CNN Plus.
