Sports media firm ViewLift will develop a streaming platform for Vegas Golden Knights games, making them available online in the team’s home broadcast market, the National Hockey League (NHL) announced on Monday.
The service will launch in time for the Vegas Golden Knights’ season opener on September 24, the NHL said. In addition to streaming, the games will be available over-the-air on KMCC (Channel 34) and KTNV (Channel 13, ABC) as part of a broader deal between the team and the E. W. Scripps Company announced earlier this year.
The online app developed by ViewLift will be available via major streaming TV platforms, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV (Google TV), along with major popular smartphones and tablets. Versions of the app will also be offered through Vizio SmartCast TVs and on Xbox consoles.
“Our alliance with ViewLift and Scripps Sports enables our fans throughout the region to enjoy the action on whatever device they choose and from wherever they are,” Kerry Bubolz, the president and CEO of the Vegas Golden Knights, said in a statement. “We will give our fans every possible option to interact with the team and watch hockey live and on demand. It’s essential that our TV and digital services reflect our Stanley Cup winning on-ice performance, and I know that with Scripps Sports and ViewLift we will achieve this.”

It wasn’t clear from the announcement how much it will cost to access Vegas Golden Knights games over streaming. Local games were previously available on AT&T SportsNet, a regional sports channel that is majority-owned by Warner Bros Discovery (WBD). Earlier this month, WBD affirmed it was exiting the regional sports business.
