MAV TV Select debuts on Xumo Play

Automotive-centric streaming channel MAV TV Select has made its debut on Comcast and Charter’s free, ad-supported service Xumo Play, the company announced on Friday.

The launch brings MAV TV Select’s library of motorsports, powersports and car-related programming to millions of streaming TV viewers who have access to Xumo Play through their Xumo-powered set-top boxes, on smartphones, tablets and smart TV sets.

“Xumo Play viewers can now immerse themselves in MAV TV’s thrilling content, enabling enthusiasts to discover stories both on and off the track and further elevate their passion for racing on the weekend,” C.J. Olivares, the president of MAV TV, said in a statement. “With the addition of Xumo Play to our distribution lineup, we can connect millions more people to our fan-favorite auto enthusiast and build shows, race series storylines and exclusive behind-the-scenes access to athletes, teams and racetracks. The timing aligns perfectly with MAV TV’s new strategy and fresh programming lineup.”

MAV TV Select includes programs like “On the Rise,” “The Life,” “My Classic Car” and “Wrench Wars,” among others. It is an offshoot of the premium cable channel MAV TV, which is available on cable, satellite and some streaming cable TV alternative services nationwide.

“This partnership with Xumo allows MAV TV to reach every race fan wherever they may be, and however they consume their motorsports content,” Ed Niemi, the senior vice president of content distribution at MAV TV, said on Friday. “As we continue to grow, Xumo Play provides another outlet for MAV TV’s best-in-class motorsports programming.”

The addition of MAV TV Select helps increase the number of free, ad-supported entertainment, news, sports and knowledge channels available on Xumo Play to well over 300.

“With more than 300 channels on Xumo Play spanning a wide range of genres and serving many niche interests, including MAV TV’s programming for motorsports enthusiasts is a great addition to our growing catalog,” Stefan Van Engen, the vice president of content acquisition at Xumo, said on Friday.

Xumo Play is available through Xumo-powered set-top boxes offered by Comcast and Charter, as well as on Flex and X1 set-top boxes for Xfinity subscribers. The service is also offered through the free Xumo Play app for smartphones, tablets, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV (Google TV) devices.

In addition to Xumo Play, MAV TV Select is also streaming on Paramount Global’s Pluto TV and The Roku Channel.
