Paramount Global is adding more content in ultra-high definition (UHD/4K) to streaming cable replacement YouTube TV this week.

The content streams and video on-demand content helps build on YouTube TV’s 4K offering, which has been largely relegated to live sports offered by Fox, NBC, ESPN and NBA TV.

YouTube TV subscribers with a 4K-capable device can now add the following channels to their live TV guide:

  • BET 4K
  • Comedy Central 4K
  • Paramount Network 4K
  • VH1 4K

The on-demand content available in 4K from those channels includes the fifth season of the hit Paramount Network drama “Yellowstone,” select episodes of Comedy Central’s “Reno 911!” and BET’s “First Wives Club,” among others. Additionally, these channels are also available in 4K when programming is available:

  • ESPN 4K
  • Fox Sports 4K
  • NBA TV 4K
  • NBC Sports 4K

On-demand content from the Discovery Channel, FX, National Geographic and Tastemade is also available in 4K on supported devices.

The 4K content is only available on YouTube TV if a user subscribes to the “4K Plus” add-on, which costs $10 per month on top of YouTube TV’s base programming price of $73 a month. The add-on also unlocks unlimited simultaneous streams when watching on a home device and the ability to download movies and TV shows on smartphones and tablets.

Supported devices that are capable of streaming YouTube TV content in 4K include the Chromecast with Google TV, all 4K-capable Roku streaming players and Roku TVs, the PS4 Pro, Nvidia Shield, all 4K-capable Amazon Fire TV sticks and the Apple TV 4K. Additionally, 4K-capable Samsung, LG, Hisense and Android TV-powered smart TVs can stream content in 4K on YouTube TV.

YouTube TV says streamers who want to watch content in 4K should have a minimum download speed of 25 Megabits-per-second (Mbps) on their broadband or wireless Internet plan and must use a device that is compliant with the HDCP 2.2 standard.

YouTube TV offers more than 80 live channels of broadcast and cable television, including local stations affiliated with ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC and cable channels owned by the Walt Disney Company (ESPN, FX, Freeform, Disney Channel), Fox Corporation (Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, Fox Sports 1), AMC Networks (AMC, IFC, BBC America, BBC World News, We TV), Comcast’s NBC Universal (Bravo, E!, USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC), Warner Bros Discovery (Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, CNN, TBS, TNT, Tru TV, HGTV, OWN) and more.

New YouTube TV customers can save nearly $40 off their plan when they sign up by clicking or tapping this link.
