Fox Weather expanded its reached on Wednesday with a new distribution agreement that will see the channel land on Dish Network’s satellite television service and the free streaming app Sling Freestream.

The channel became available to Dish subscribers on Wednesday, with Fox Weather added to the America’s Top 120 service tier and higher packages. Fox Weather will also be accessible through the Dish Anywhere app to subscribers with eligible programming packages, the network said.

Additionally, Fox Weather has been added to Sling Freestream, the free, ad-supported streaming platform operated by Dish. A spokesperson for Fox News Media, the parent company of Fox Weather, confirmed that the availability of Fox Weather on Sling Freestream also makes the channel accessible to subscribers of Sling Orange and Sling Blue, the base programming tiers for the pay service Sling TV.

“As we continue to grow our premium live weather news service, we are thrilled to expand FOX Weather’s reach to include DISH Network and Sling Freestream consumers,” Sharri Berg, the president of Fox Weather, said in a statement.

It wasn’t clear if the deal was part of a broader agreement covering other Fox-owned channels. Fox Weather is part of Fox News Media, a division of Fox Corporation that also operates the Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network.

Launched in 2021, Fox Weather offers regular updates on weather-related events and breaking news coverage of severe storms. The channel also offers a robust line-up of original programming focused on climate-related topics.

In the two years since it became available, Fox Weather has pushed to forge new distribution agreements with free streaming platforms, audio services and pay television companies alike. The channel is distributed on Xumo Play, the Roku Channel, Amazon Fire TV Channels, Plex, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels and Vizio’s WatchFree Plus. Cable and pay TV providers that offer the channel include Astound Broadband, Verizon Fios, YouTube TV, DirecTV Stream and Fubo. A free audio simulcast of Fox Weather is also available on TuneIn and Audacy.
