Christmas continues to be a good day for the country to tune in to National Football League (NFL) games on broadcast TV.

The conclusion of the NFL’s week 16 saw three games aired on Christmas Day — one each on CBS, Fox and ABC.

The CBS match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders drew nearly 28.3 million viewers to CBS and Paramount Plus, along with another 893,000 who watched a kid-friendly simulcast of the game on Nickelodeon, according to Nielsen ratings.

The game tentatively set the record for the most-watched NFL game on Christmas day since the Minnesota Vikings took on the Cincinnati Bengals on ABC in 1989. That game had 33.1 million viewers aired on broadcast, cable and satellite TV.

On ABC, the “Monday Night Football” match-up between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens was the second most-watched Monday evening game since 1996, a spokesperson for ESPN said in a statement.

The game grabbed a little more than 27.2 million viewers on ABC, ESPN Deportes and streaming service ESPN Plus. “Monday Night Football” did not air on the flagship ESPN channel on Monday, as the network was showcasing a National Basketball Association (NBA) game instead.

Viewership for the Fox game was not available as of Tuesday evening. The Fox match-up saw the Philadelphia Eagles take on the New York Giants in the Christmas afternoon slot.

CBS is owned by Paramount Global. ABC and ESPN are divisions of the Walt Disney Company. The Fox broadcast network is part of Fox Corporation.
