Sports brand DAZN has launched its streaming app to Sky’s connected TV platforms in the United Kingdom.

The apps became available on Sky Glass television sets, Sky Stream set-top boxes and Sky Q connected receivers in the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland shortly after midnight on January 1.

DAZN’s linear channel DAZN 1 HD has been available on Sky satellite and its companion streaming service for some time, as have DAZN pay-per-view events, which were accessible to Sky subscribers.

Now, the launch of the DAZN app on Sky’s three connected TV platforms brings even more live sports and related content to Sky subscribers, including mixed martial arts, boxing, Saudi Pro League and UEFA Women’s Champions League events.

“DAZN’s distribution strategy is to be as accessible to as many sports fans as possible, and Sky’s great technology through Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream, will help us get into more homes across the UK and Ireland, so even more people can discover the sports entertainment universe we are working hard to create,” Shay Segev, the CEO of DAZN Group, said in a statement.

In addition to the DAZN app, Sky subscribers have access to other third party streaming apps through their connected receivers and Sky Glass TV sets, including BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime Video.

Sky is operated by Sky Group, a unit of American telecommunications firm Comcast.
